
Cougars Conclude Northern Road Swing at Northeastern

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston finishes a three-game road trip on Thursday night at 6 p.m. when the Cougars take on Northeastern at Parsons Field in Brookline, Mass.
With the regular season heading into the stretch run, the Cougars are in a battle for one of the six berths in the CAA Tournament. Charleston has five games remaining and is tied for sixth with six points (2-3-2) while Huskies are 3-1-3 in league play and sit in fifth place with 12 points.
The top six teams at the end of the regular season advance to postseason play which gets underway on October 26.
The Cougars are coming off a 0-0 draw at Delaware on Sunday, recording their third shutout in the past four matches. The Charleston defense has been stingy as of late, allowing only two goals in the past five outings.
Northeastern has CAA wins over UNCW, Elon and Hampton and draws with Drexel, Campbell and Delaware. Jessie Hunt leads the conference with eight assists, and three Huskies have scored four or more goals.
The Huskies have won eight of nine games against Charleston since the Cougars joined the CAA in 2013. Northeastern won, 2-1, in 2021 at Ralph Lundy Field in the last meeting.
