Purves Shoots Up Record Book at Rutgers Holiday Classic

New York – Rhian Purves raced her way up the indoor track and field record book Friday in the 3000 meters at the Rutgers Holiday Classic at the historic Armory Track in New York City.
Purves posted a personal best time of 10:02.75 to move from eighth to second in school history, trailing only Dena O'Brien. Purves trimmed more than 14 seconds off her previous PR set last year at the Blue Marlin Invitational.
Purves finished fourth overall in a field of 21 runners.
