Men's Basketball Travels to Elon for Final CAA Road Contest

ELON, N.C. - The College of Charleston men's basketball team will travel to Elon on Thursday for their final CAA road contest of the season before the league tournament in Washington, D.C. Action is set for 7:00 p.m.

STORYLINES
  • The College of Charleston are coming off four consecutive wins after dropping their first two contests since November 11, 2022. Through the stretch, the Cougars have outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points.
  • Three of the last four contests have seen career performances from Cougars with Ante Brzovic (UNCW and Northeastern, 23 points) and Pat Robinson III (Hampton, 30 points) surpassing previous bests as Cougars.
  • Charleston's dominant win over Northeastern propelled the team four spots to 55 in the NCAA NET rankings. Four Cougars (Brzvoic, Dalton Bolon, Ben Burnham, Robinson III) scored in double-figures during the contest.
  • This will be the 33rd all-time meeting between the programs. Charleston holds the 23-9 series edge and won the last meeting on January 14 in Charleston 78-60.
  • The January 14 meeting between the Cougars and Phoenix was only the second time all season Charleston trailed at the half. Bolon led the Cougars with 21 points followed by Brzovic (17), Reyne Smith (14) and Ryan Larson (12). Jaylon Scott grabbed 12 rebounds in the game.
  • Elon was led by current CAA Rookie of the Week Max Mackinnon with 17 points. Thursday's game will feature both the current CAA Rookie of the Week in Mackinnon and the CAA Player of the Week in Robinson III.
  • The Phoenix are coming off a thrilling 70-68 victory over Hampton on Thursday night.
STARS ALL AROUND
  • The Cougars have played a solidified ten-man rotation with nine Cougars averaging 15.8 minutes or more per contest.
  • Eight different Cougars have led the team in scoring (Reyne Smith, Dalton Bolon, Jaylon Scott, Ante Brzvoic, Ryan Larson, Raekwon Horton, Pat Robinson III, Ben Burnham), while nine have contributed double-digit points during at least one contest.
  • CofC currently ranks 3rd in the nation in bench points (33.29) and 2nd the nation in offensive rebounds/game (13.71)
  • Charleston is the only team in the CAA to boast three different CAA Player of the Weeks (Ryan Larson - 11/21, Dalton Bolon - 1/16, Pat Robinson III - 2/13)
