Men's Basketball Looks for Season Sweep of Seahawks

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's basketball team will look for a season sweep of UNCW on Wednesday night when the Seahawks travel to TD Arena. Action is set for 7:00 p.m. sponsored by TD Bank.

STORYLINES
  • Charleston bounced back from back-to-back losses on Saturday afternoon with a convincing 84-67 victory at Delaware. The Cougars are 22-3 on the year and are tied with Purdue and Florida Atlantic for the most wins in the country.
  • The Cougars made 13 triples on Saturday at Delaware, their 13th time this season making 10+ from behind the arc. Reyne Smith and Dalton Bolon each sank four for Charleston
  • This is the second meeting this season between the Cougars and the Seahawks. Charleston won the first meeting in Wilmington 71-69. The contest was a true battle with Jaylon Scott securing the game-winning block as the clock expired. The win snapped a four-game losing streak to the Seahawks.
  • Four Cougars contributed double-figures point in the first meeting between the programs with Bolon scoring a game-high 16 points. Ryan Larson and Ante Brzovic added 13 followed by Ben Burnham with 12.
  • The Cougars lead the CAA in 3-point field goals made this season (250) while the Seahawks rank 12th (158). Charleston has established the three as a part of their style of play and currently are second in the country in triples attempted per game (30.5).
  • UNCW (2.04) and Charleston (1.60) rank first and second in the CAA in turnover margin. The Cougars are third in the league in assist/turnover ratio (1.10) while UNCW ranks 11th (0.96)
SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS
  • Trazarien White leads UNCW iwth 13.4 points per game followed by Maleeck Harden-Hayes with 10.5. White and Jamarii Thomas each had 16 points in the first meeting between the teams.
  • White also paces the Seahawks on the glass with 4.2 a game followed by Harden-Hayes and Amari Thomas with a matching 2.9.
  • UNCW has won four straight contests over CAA competitors Stony Brook, Monmouth, North Carolina A&T and William & Mary. In addition to Charleston, the Seahawks have league losses to William & Mary and Hofstra. 
WHITE OUT
  • Fans are encouraged to get loud and wear white for the annual White Out game of the season.
  • CofC is also proud to introduce a new light show, synced with the Cougar's starting lineup introductions. Fans should plan to download the CUE Live app to their mobile devices. QR codes will also be accessible in TD Arena to join the fun. The CUE Live app will only work on mobile devices.
GAMEDAY REMINDERS
  • Saturday's contest is officially sold out. Doors will open 1.5 hours prior to tipoff.
  • Concession stands will open when doors open, and the Cougar Spirit Shop will open one hour prior to tipoff. There will also be cash only satellite beer and water areas around the concourse. 
  • The TD Arena Box Office is open Monday – Friday beginning at 9AM and opens 3 hours prior to tipoff for Saturday & Sunday games.
  • If you selected mobile tickets, add your tickets to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay App prior to arriving at TD Arena for the smoothest entry experience.
