CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston makes the short trip up I-26 Friday to compete in the CSU Buccaneer Invitational.

Track Events
Kaitlynn Bailey is coming off a school record run in the 100 (12.19) and a win in the 400 (58.86) at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge last week. Emily Kreek took over the No. 8 spot in Cougar history with a time of 15.46 in the 100 hurdles and advanced to the finals.

Two other Cougars won event titles last week, with Rhian Purves taking the 800 (2:15.07) and Sophia Brown winning the 3000 (10:35.02). Joining Purves in the top eight in the 800 were Meike Kalus (third, 2:20.33), Emily Dorony (fourth, 2:21.54) and Andie Harding (eighth, 2:23.44).

Dorony also placed third in the 1500 (4:43.74), Shannon Smith was fifth in the 1500 (4:49.43) and Allie Pujol (11:31.50) and Reagan Wells (11:41.97) were fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 3000.

Field Events
In addition to her performance in the 100 hurdles, Kreek led a trio of Cougars to finish in the top eight in the long jump. She finished third with a top jump of 5.14m (16'10 ½") followed by Abby Fush in fourth (5.06m, 16'7 ¼") and Catie O'Neill in eighth (4.81m, 15'9 ½").
