CHARLESTON. S.C.-College of Charleston men's soccer coach Keith Wiggans announced the promotion of Max Correa to assistant coach on Tuesday morning.
"I am pleased to promote Max to this new position. Max has developed during his time here at the College of Charleston."
This fall will be Correa's third season on Coach Wiggan's staff. Correa will be responsible for team training sessions, domestic recruiting, and running the day-to-day operations of the soccer program.
"His knowledge of the game and ability to grow relationships with the players has helped this program. I am excited to see him continue to grow as Max is a bright young coach."
Correa has coached three All-CAA student-athletes, four All-CAA rookies, and the reigning CAA Rookie of the Year Chris Elliott. In his debut season, Elliot was ranked fifth in scoring with eight goals and 17 points.
In addition, the 2022 Cougars set a program record in the classroom with a cumulative 3.43 GPA.
"I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that Keith and Rob have provided," Correa stated. "I am looking forward to continuing my coaching career at the College of Charleston. I am excited for the near future!"
Prior to coming to Charleston, Correa served as an assistant at Wilkes College for two seasons where he assisted with training sessions, recruited student-athletes, planned travel logistics for his staff, and planned scouting reports.
Before his coaching debut, he was a two-time All-Landmark conference student-athlete at Drew University and ranks third in school history with 26 career assists.
