
Nafpliotis Announced as Director of Athletic Bands

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Nick Nafpliotis has been announced as the next Director of Athletic Bands at the College of Charleston. Nafpliotis will lead Chucktown Sound, an integral part of the game day experience at CofC.
An Atlanta native, Nafpliotis graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor's degree in music education. After 18 years directing the award-winning Laing Middle School Band program, Nick took a job as the Lead Teacher for the Charleston County School District's Visual and Performing Arts Department.
Nick has also been on the Visual and Music staff for some of the Southeast's top marching programs, including the Wando High School Band in Mount Pleasant, the Lafayette High School Band in Kentucky, and the Walton High School Band in Georgia. After moving to South Carolina in 2004, he began a low brass lesson studio that consistently placed students in top chairs at both the All-Region and All-State levels.
