DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The College of Charleston cheerleading program will compete this weekend at the NCA College National in Dayton Beach, Florida. The competition hosts over 470 of the nation's top cheer teams competing to earn a national title.
The Cougars will compete in the Intermediate Small Coed Division I against North Carolina A&T, UNCW, DePaul, Stephen F. Austin, Central Arkansas, Bucknell, Sacramento State, UTRGV, Incarnate Word, and Western Carolina.
"NCA College Nationals is more than just a competition for us – it's the culmination of every late night practice, every rep, every journal entry, and every bit of fight and grit we've poured into this season and this routine," said head coach Sam Keohane. "This team has faced challenges, grown closer, and committed to pushing boundaries every single day. I can't wait to watch them come together and put out two incredible final performances at Nationals."
Charleston took home the Intermediate Small Coed Division I title in 2021 and placed second in 2022 and 2023.
The Cougars will compete in the prelims on Thursday, April 10 at 9:04 p.m. prior to Friday's finals. Cougar fans can support the cheerleading program by watching on www.varsitytv.com.
