Box Score TOWSON, MD. – Abby Fisher scored to bring College of Charleston into a tie midway through the second half, but Towson answered in the closing minutes to hand the Cougars a 2-1 defeat on Sunday.

The loss dropped the Cougars to 1-1 in the CAA while Towson is 1-0-1 in league play.

Fisher scored her second career goal off an assist from Mary Alexander with 27 minutes remaining to become the 10th different Cougar to find the back of the net this season. The Tigers then tallied the game winner when Nia Christopher scored in the 83rd minute.

Charleston appeared to tie the game in the 88th minute, but a goal was negated when the Cougars were called for a foul.

Fisher and Lilli Ray both had two of Charleston's 10 shots. Towson fired 19 shots with Savannah Barron making five saves.

"We started slow in the first half and were not quite at the level we need to be to compete," said head coach Christian Michner. "The second half was a different game altogether. We came out flying and made a huge impression on the game. Abby scored a fantastic goal, and we looked poised to take a point home with us, but a mistake at the end cost us and we left empty handed.

"It was a good CAA match all in all, but we will have to put together 90 solid minutes going forward."

The Cougars are off until next Sunday when they take to the road again for a contest at UNCW.
