Cougars Finish Home Tournament

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's golf team completed their opening tournament of the 2023-24 campaign on Tuesday afternoon at the Cougar Classic.
The tournament, which features several of the top amateur players in the world, saw the lowest round in women's college golf history and several new tournament records during its two-day span. LSU and Ole Miss tied for the top spot, while Clemson's Savannah Grewal and LSU's Ingrid Lindblad tied for the individual titles. Charleston finished in 14th (+16)
Emilie von Finckenstein rose nine spots from her day one finish to place T20 in her first collegiate tournament. von Finckenstein shot three birdies with one bogey during the third round.
Viktoria Hund bounced back by rising 20 positions from her day one placement to finish T34. She posted back-to-back birdies on holes eight and nine, two of her five in the round, while junior Emma Schimpf played a boogey-free final round.
The Cougars return to action on September 22 when they travel to Nashville for the Mason Rudolph Championship hosted by Vanderbilt.
