CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston returns to action on Saturday at the Live in Lou Classic at the Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.

The women will compete in the Gold Division with their 5k race beginning at 10:15 a.m. The men are entered in the Blue Division and that 8k event gets underway at 10:45 a.m.

Rhian Purves and Mitchel Drees have been the top runners for each team through the first two meets of the season. Purves ran a 17:58.2 in the 5k two weeks ago at the Adidas Challenge to move into eighth place in school history.

Drees has finished first among the Cougar men in his first two collegiate meets, including a time of 19:07.0 in the 6k at the Adidas Challenge. 

Five other Charleston athletes had PRs two weeks ago. On the women's side, Cayden Crismon and Shannon Smith had their best career marks at the 5k distance while Hammer Blair, Joshua Keifer and Joshua Silverman had 6k PRs for the men.
