GREENSBORO, N.C. – College of Charleston's comeback fell short as the Cougars lost to North Carolina A&T in five sets (27-25, 13-25, 22-25, 25-21 and 15-8) Friday evening in Moore Gymnasium.

The Cougars are now 17-6 and 9-2 in the CAA while the Aggies sit at 12-7 and 7-4 in league play.

WHEN THE GAME WAS DECIDED:
- The Aggies were the first to eight points in the deciding set, soaring out to an 8-3 lead and never looking back.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST NORTH CAROLINA A&T:
- Emily Banitt tallied her team-best 12th double-double of the season, recording 10 kills and 18 digs. Hannah Scott had her 11th double-double, dishing out 39 assists while recording 14 digs.
- Tynley Smeltzer had 29 digs in the setback: one of four Cougars with 10-plus digs.
- Caitlyn Callahan had a team-high seven blocks as Charleston tallied 15 in the match. Banitt also tallied six while Allie Holland chipped in five blocks.
- Emily Dykes hit a team-best .324 with 13 kills, the fifth time this season the graduate has eclipsed double-digit kills.

OF NOTE:
- Charleston is 3-2 overall against North Carolina A&T and 1-1 when matches go to five sets.
- The eight blocks in set three is tied for most in a set this season, first occurring on Sept. 21 at Elon.
- The Cougars have 15-plus blocks in back-to-back contests, the first time this has occurred since Nov. 7 and 8, 2000. Charleston had 18 and 17 blocks, respectively.
- Banitt recorded her 900th career dig.
- Callahan has six-plus blocks in nine matches this season.
- Smeltzer has 20-or-more digs in seven contests this season.
