CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team defeated Campbell inside TD Arena on Sunday afternoon, 65-51.
In a dominate performance to close out the weekend, the Cougars came out fast with a 12-point scoring run to gain a comfortable lead which they carried through the entirety of the matchup.
The Cougars outscored the Camels 21-12 in the first quarter, behind the hands of
Jenna Annecchiarico and
Jada Logan, each with a shot beyond the arc and a set of layups.
Alexis Andrews had the hot hand of the day, downing five baskets behind the paint to propel Charleston to a double-digit victory. Andrews and Logan both led the Cougars with 17 points.
In the third quarter, a pass from Annecchiarico led to a three-point bucket for Andrews, giving Annecchiarico her 594
th career assist. Officially marking her with the most assists in program history, she has now surpassed Jillian Brown who reached 593 in 2014. Annecchiarico also holds the record for most assists in a single game with 14.
With the win, the Cougars improve to 8-3 in conference play, maintaining their third-place ranking.
