Women's Golf Finishes in Top Ten at Briar's Creek

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's golf team rose four spots to take ninth place at the Briar's Creek Invitational on Tuesday. The Cougars lineup combined for a 1-over 289 final round against 13 Power 5 programs in the 17 team field.

Emma Schimpf led the Cougars with a T11 finish and a 2-under round to rise 11 positions from her day one finish. The junior posted back-to-back birdies on 11 and 12 and recorded the third most overall in the field with 11 over the three rounds.

Emily Dunlap also finished in the top 20 at T16 with a 1-under round. She had a bogey-free final round and recorded the second most par holes in the field with 41. Dunlap also rose 11 places from her day one finish.

Playing as an individual, Bella Britt tied with Schimpf for the third most birdies of the competition.

Charleston returns to action March 29 at the Liz Murphey Collegiate hosted by the University of Georgia.
