CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team downed Delaware on Saturday, 102-77.
With the win, the Cougars have secured a double-bye in the CAA Tournament next week in Washington, D.C.
Charleston came out strong, scoring 24 points in each the first and second quarter to take the lead heading into the break.
Jada Logan came in clutch for the Cougars, leading the team in scoring at the half with 18 points.
Delaware outscored the Cougars in the third, cutting the Charleston lead to just three points heading into the final 10 minutes.
An explosive performance from the Cougars in the final quarter lifted Charleston to a 33-point quarter and a 102-point score by the final whistle. The 102 points scored by Charleston is the most points scored against a Division I opponent in program history. The previous record was reached in 2014 when the Cougars knocked down 101 versus William & Mary.
Key Cougars
- Alexis Andrews had a stellar second half performance, knocking down 23 points in just 20 minutes to contribute to the win. Andrews ended the day with a game-high 30 points as well as six buckets beyond the arc.
- Logan tallied 26 points in the matchup, including 12 rebounds for a double-double.
- Jenna Annecchiarico also finished in double-digit scoring, with 16 points and five assists on the day.
