WASHINGTON, D.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team fell to Towson in the CAA Quarterfinals on Friday night, 69-60.
The Cougars were unable to finish in the paint, shooting below 30 percent from the field on the night. Towson outscored Charleston in three of the four quarters to take the win.
Charleston found a spark in the third quarter with an 11-0 run, bringing the deficit down to just three. A quick 5-0 run for the Towson including a buzzer-beater three broke the Cougars' run.
The Cougars got as close as sixth in the fourth quarter on a layup from
Jada Logan with 7:30 remaining, but Towson made 8-of-13 from the line in the final period to seal the victory.
The Cougars were led by guard
Jada Logan, who poured in a game-high 24 points, including 16 in the second half.
Alexis Andrews added 13 points and
Taryn Barbot had 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
