Francesca Salvato Named CAA Player of the Week

Richmond, Va.- Sophomore Francesca Salvato earned her first CAA accolade as she was named Player of the Week after an undefeated singles performance on the week.
Salvato posted a 2-0 singles record last week as Charleston pulled out narrow conference wins over Elon (4-3) and Drexel (4-3) last week. The sophomore pulled out a three-set battle over Elon's Helen Sarikulaya, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 at No. 5 singles, and defeated Drexel's Rebecca Feidler, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6 singles. Charleston is on a five-match winning streak, including four-straight against CAA foes.
Salvato is the second Cougar to earn a CAA weekly honor this season.
The Cougars will look to host South Carolina State on Friday, April 5 at Patriots Point in their Senior Day match. Doubles play is set for 1:00 p.m.
