Charleston travel to Columbia for USC Open

CHARLESTON, S.C. - After a trip to Durham, N.C. for the Duke Invitational, the Cougars will head back to the University of South Carolina for the USC Open this weekend.
The previous meet was highlighted again by Kailtynn Bailey, who broke her own school record in the 200 with a time of 24.31 and moved up a spot to third in the 400 with a time of 56.77. This is the third meet in a row in which Bailey has reset the school mark in the 200.
In addition, the distance group showed out specifically in the 5000, Cayden Crismon climbed from fifth to third in school history with a time of 17:24.98 while Maeve Gimbert (17:25.60) and Hannah Wise (17:48.20) entered the top 10 in fourth and 10th place, respectively.
The jumpers showed some of the season's best heights and distances with Abby Fush solidifying her fifth-place standing in the triple jump with a leap of 11.67m (38'3 ½"). Luzy Lieger had a season-best pole vault at 4.00m (13'1 ½"), and Madison Jent was just .01m shy of a PR at 3.85m (12'7 ½").
This weekend the track & field team will look to throw down some fast times in preparation for the CAA Championship in three weeks.
