Braden Gritz Named Gatorade South Carolina Boys Soccer Player of the Year

CHICAGO, Ill. - Gatorade has announced Braden Gritz as the 2023-24 Gatorade South Carolina Boys Soccer Player of the Year. Gritz will be joining the Cougar men's soccer program in the fall and is the first Gatorade South Carolina Boys Soccer Player of the Year to be chosen from his high school, Fort Mill.
"I am very excited about Braden joining our program", says head coach Keith Wiggans. "He has continued to impress me with his passion and constant growth in his game. He wants to get better and shows it in all he does. I am confident he will make a significant impact on this program during his 4 years!"
The senior forward led the Yellow Jackets to a 16-8-1 record and the Class 5A state championship this past season. Gritz scored 25 goals and passed for two assists, including 11 goals and two assists in five postseason matches. A two-time Class 5A First Team All-State selection, he concluded his prep soccer career with a school-record 56 goals.
