TOLEDO, Ohio - Kieron van Wyk finished T3 at the historic Inverness Invitational with a 5-under performance. van Wyk finished the tournament with a 4-under 65 final round, just one stroke off of the top round of the day.

The senior from South Africa led the field with 14 birdies - four in the opening round, five in the second, and five in the third. 

Charleston placed seventh ahead of five Power Four teams, competing in their second tournament in five days after placing tenth in the competitive Visit Knoxville Collegiate.

Nevill Ruiter finished T14 at 2-over, scoring a final 3-under round of 66. The senior climbed 22 spots on the final day of play with a four birdie round. Tim Bertenbrieter rounded out the top three Charleston finishers at T43. 

The Cougars are back in action October 14 and 15 at the Qubein Cup hosted by High Point University.
