CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's soccer team will host West Georgia on Sunday, September 15 for Senior Day.
The Cougars enter the matchup coming off a 5-0 win versus local foe Charleston Southern. The Cougars got on the board in the 22nd minute, when a cross from Delaney Dawes found Faith Slimmer on the front post. Slimmer earned her second goal of the day in the 40th minute, when a ball from Millie Cluxton found Slimmer behind the Buccaneers' back line, putting the ball past the keeper into the left side of the net. Charleston entered the break with a 2-0 lead.
Slimmer scored the Cougars' third goal with another cross into the box from Dawes, finding Slimmer in front of the net to touch it in. With three goals in the game, Slimmer becomes just the fifth Cougar in program history to earn a hat trick after Shea Vidovic's performance versus South Carolina State.
The Wolves sit 1-4 on the season, finding their first win versus Alabama State last Sunday after scoring in the 89th minute to secure the win. The two teams have both faced High Point and Charleston Southern, where West Georgia fell to both teams.
Charleston will be honoring nine seniors prior to kick off: Hannah Antonick, Katie Carrino, Faith Slimmer, Delaney Dawes, Emmie Wannemacher, Mary Alexander, Savannah Barron, Shae Yocum and Lexi Drumm.
Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. and will be livestreamed on FloFC with live stats available at CofCStats.com
Please plan accordingly for additional travel time getting to the stadium. Parking around the complex will be impacted by the increased traffic due to the SURF Soccer Tournament.
