Men's Soccer Set to Host Monmouth on Saturday

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's soccer team will return home to host Monmouth on Saturday, September 28. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.

The Cougars traveled to Statesboro earlier in the week to face Georgia Southern, falling 2-1. Leonardo D'Ambrosio was able to tie the game with a free kick outside of the box, but the Eagles took the victory with a go-ahead goal late in the second half.

Charleston enters the matchup 2-0 in conference play, defeating Stony Brook in their conference opener and Delaware last weekend at home.

Monmouth travels to Charleston with a 4-0-4 record, yet to be beaten. The Hawks hosted No.12 Hofstra last weekend, defeating the Pride 2-1. Monmouth has also tied Campbell and Stony Brook in conference play.

The two teams last met during the 2023 season, where the Hawks took the 2-1 win over the Cougars. The teams are tied in their series record, both with two wins. Monmouth has yet to defeat Charleston on the Cougars' home turf.
