
Cougars Look to Continue Hot Start in the Upstate

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's soccer team will travel to Spartanburg to play USC Upstate at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4.
On Sunday, the team hosted North Dakota, taking down the Fighting Hawks 2-0. Bubbles Dever put the Cougars on the board, finishing across from Emmie Wannemacher. Faith Slimmer doubled the lead for Charleston when she deflected a shot from Lilli Ray and snuck it past a line of defenders into the bottom left corner of the net.
USC Upstate holds a record of 3-1 on the season, currently on a three-game winning streak. Most recently facing VMI, outshooting the Keydets 14-9 to take the 4-1 win.
The Cougars currently sit 5-1 on the season, most recently with two shutouts versus Wofford and North Dakota. Charleston has faced the Spartans four times previously, tying in their last matchup, 2-2, at Patriot's Point in the 2023 season.
Charleston will be looking for their sixth win of the season, giving the program their best start since 2008.
