HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.- The College of Charleston women's basketball team defeated Hofstra on Friday night 64-51 in their first road matchup of the weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars started slow in the first frame, but outscored the Pride 20-6 in the second quarter to gain the lead.
- Falling behind nine points in the first quarter, a pair of three-point plays brought the deficit to three. Forcing a turnover with four minutes left in the second, Jazmyn Stone found the layup to give the Cougars the lead.
- Sophia Tougas ended the third quarter with a bucket beyond the arc, giving Charleston a 12-point lead heading into the final frame.
- CofC maintained their double-digit lead in the fourth to secure the win, supported by a 13-of-14 free throw performance in the final 10 minutes of play.
