RICHMOND, Va. –
Colby Duggan and
Mister Dean have been the named to the 2025-26 Preseason All-CAA Men's Basketball Teams.
The Cougars were picked to finish third by the league's coaches, receiving one first place vote and 130 total points. Towson was picked as the front runner, collecting seven first place votes and 136 points. UNCW received the remaining five first place votes with 132 points.
Charleston joins Towson as the only two schools with more than one representative on the All-CAA First and Second teams.
A unanimous selection to the Preseason All-CAA First Team, Duggan joins the Cougars from Campbell, where he led the CAA in scoring last season with 19.9 ppg in league play. The 6-7, 220 lbs forward turned in eight 20+ point games against CAA opponents and scored double figures in all 18 conference games. The junior shot 46% FG 33% 3FG, and 76% FT in CAA play.
Overall, Duggan averaged 15.7 ppg and 3.3 rpg last season. He scored a career-high 33 points at Delaware, dropped 32 at North Carolina, and sank the game winning overtime jumper to complete an 18-point comeback at Hofstra. He reached double figures 25 times.
Dean earned a spot on the Preseason All-CAA Second Team after earning Big South Rookie of the Year honors in 2024-25. A Miami native, the 6'6" guard averaged 15.7 ppg and 5.5 rpg last season at USC Upstate.
Dean's 15.7 ppg ranked fifth overall in the Big South. He was third in field goal percentage, shooting 57% from the floor, while leading the league with 2.1 steals per game. He scored in double figures 24 times out of 31 games while scoring 20+ points 10 times on the season.
