Women's Soccer Ends Season in a Scoreless Draw at Elon

BURLINGTON, N.C. – The College of Charleston women's soccer team season came to an end on Sunday, October 26 with a 0-0 draw at Elon.

The match served as a "win and in" scenario for both programs to the 2025 CAA Women's Soccer Championship.

Each team took six shots in the opening frame with Charleston finding three corners compared to the Phoenix's five.

Lilli Ray, Avery Nassetta, Faith Slimmer, and Caroline Fowlkes all found shots on goal in the first half but could not connect.

The College outshot Elon in the second half nine to seven. Fowlkes had one final attempt for the Cougars in the 88th minute that was ultimately saved.

Slimmer had a game high five shots on the afternoon with two shots on goal. The redshirt-senior played all 90 minutes of her final collegiate match. Five other Cougars also played 90 minutes, including freshman defender Maderia Gwozdo who was essential to Charleston's backline.

Charleston's season ends with an 8-6-3 overall record and a 4-3-2 conference record.

Slimmer ends her career tied for the sixth most goals in program history (18) and fourth most assists (18).

Five Cougars found four or more goals this season including seniors Emma Wennar and Nassetta.

Bella Antonio led the team in points this season with five goals and four assists to tally 14 points. Wennar took a team high 64 shots with 30 on target on the 2025 campaign.

Maggie Heffernan, Sienna Petro, Ellie Stewart, and Emma Stankunas all scored their first career goals this season. Heffernan scored five, including a brace in the first CAA matchup against Monmouth.
