MEDINAH, Ill. – The College of Charleston women's golf team will travel to the Illini Women's Invitational October 6-7 at the Medinah Country Club.

Charleston, who is receiving votes in the latest WGCA poll, will join Indiana, San Jose State, #11 LSU, Michigan, Central Florida, Augusta, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Alabama, Texas Tech, SMU,  #18 Auburn, Illinois State, and host Illinois in the field.

The Cougars are coming off their first team title of the season with a win at the Tot Hill Farm Invitational. It marked the second straight season Charleston took home the team win.

Entering the final round seven strokes out of the lead in third place, the Cougars were the only team to play an even par final round for 9-over tournament defeating second place Old Dominion by five strokes. The win marks the eighth consecutive season Jamie Futrell's program has won a fall tournament. The win is also the 42^nd career win of Futrell's coaching career. He owns the seventh most career wins among active coaches in NCAA Division I and ranks 20^th all-time in career wins.

Emilie von Finckenstein led the Cougars with a runner-up individual finish earning her CAA Golfer of the Week honors. The junior bounced back from a 2-over opening round with a 1-under 71 in the second round. The Hamburg, Germany product began her second day with back-to-back birdies on the first two holes before finishing with four birdies on the afternoon and seven in total. It marked the second straight season von Finckenstein has captured a runner-up finish in the Cougars' Tot Hill Farm Invitational.

Charleston will tee off Monday at 9:30 a.m. The Cougars will play with Alabama and Indiana.
