Barbot Earns CAA Player of the Week Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Taryn Barbot was named the Coastal Athletic Association Player of the Week after posting her eighth career 30-point game in Charleston's 75-44 win over Iona Friday evening.
In the Cougars lone game against the Gaels last week, Barbot totaled 31 points, five rebounds, two blocks and two assists. The Floral Park, N.Y. native ranks second in the nation and leads the CAA in points per game with an average of 28.3. She is also averaging 6.3 boards per game, 3.3 assists per game, is shooting 56.4% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc (9-18) this year.
This is Barbot's fourth time being named the CAA Player of the Week. She earned the honor three times last year and garnered the 2024-25 Player of the Year award. Coming into the 2025-26 season, Barbot earned the CAA Preseason Player of the Year award, and was named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List.
The Cougars will be back in action Tuesday night for a matchup at N.C. Central at 5 p.m.
