
Barbot Named CAA Co-Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Taryn Barbot was named the Coastal Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week after a strong week at the Big Easy Classic in New Orleans.
The Floral Park, N.Y. native averaged 22 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists and 1.5 blocks per game in the Cougars' two games at the Big Easy Classic. In Charleston's 72-42 win over New Mexico State, Barbot scored 18 points to go along with four rebounds, four steals and two assists. Then in the game against High Point, the junior guard posted a game-high 26 points and 11 rebounds as she earned her first double-double of the year.
This is Barbot's fifth time being named the CAA Player of the Week, and her second time earning the honor this season. She also earned the honor three times last year and garnered the 2024-25 Player of the Year award. Coming into the 2025-26 season, Barbot earned the Preseason CAA Player of the Year award, and was named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List. She has scored 1,207 career points and is 19th on the Charleston's all-time scoring list.
The Cougars will be back in action Tuesday night for a matchup at Colorado at 9 p.m. ET.
