VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. –
Charlotte Elliston and
Emma Townsend combined for three of the top performances for the College of Charleston track and field team at the DI Pre-National Meet in Virginia Beach.
Elliston had a season-best mark of 3.65m (11'11 ½") in the pole vault to tie for third place and strengthen her hold on third in the Cougar indoor record book. Townsend climbed one spot from third to second in the 200m (25.31) and finished 15th out of 48 runners while also moving up to third in the 60m (7.90).
Emily Kreek advanced to the finals in the 60m hurdles and ran 9.03 to finish fifth and come within .01 of her personal best time.
Kinsley Allen (1.62m, 5'3 ¾") and
Kylie Dougherty (1.52m, 4'11 ¾") placed third and fifth, respectively, in the high jump.
The Cougars return to the Virginia Beach Sports Center on Feb. 26-27 for the CAA Indoor Championships.
