Charleston Dominates Coastal Carolina

CONWAY, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball earned a dominant 15-5 victory Tuesday afternoon against Coastal Carolina at Springs Brooks Stadium. The Cougars recorded 14 hits while drawing a program-record 16 walks in the eight-inning run-rule win.

Charleston improves to 3-1 on the season and hands the Chanticleers (4-1) their first loss of 2025.

Freshman Landon Penfield ignited the offense in the top of the first with a three-run shot, his first collegiate long ball and first Cougar home run of the season. Penfield finished the contest by going 2-for-4 with three runs, a triple, home run, 5 RBI, walk and hit by pitch. Penfield was one of five Cougars to tally multiple hits.

Redshirt junior Daniel Brooks tossed four innings in his first start of the season, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks.
