HAMPTON, Va.- Charleston women's basketball finished the weekend 2-0 after taking down Hampton on Tuesday, February 25, 70-58.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A slow start for the Cougars left the game tied after the first frame. Back-to-back jumpers from Sophia Tougas kickstarted the scoring for Charleston in the second quarter.
- Entering the second half with a one point lead, the Cougars outscored the Pirates 19-11 in the final frame to grab the win.
- Taylor Barbot added eight points in the fourth quarter to help secure the win as Taryn Barbot grabbed five boards and two steals.
- Four Cougars reached double-digits in the victory. Charleston controlled the glass outrebounding their opponent 50-36.
- CofC improves to 10-4 in conference play and 19-6 on the season.
LEADING COUGARS
- Taryn Barbot led the team with 18 points on the day, supported by a perfect 8-for-8 performance at the free throw line. Barbot secured a double-double in the matchup with 10 boards.
- Also earning a double-double was Lara Rohkohl with 12 points and 13 rebounds. With eight offensive rebounds on the day, Rohkohl holds the title for most offensive rebounds in a season in program history.
- Taylor Barbot tallied 14 points on the day with six rebounds and four steals.
