CHARLESTON, S.C.- Charleston women's basketball ran past Elon on Friday night inside TD Arena, earning their 20
th win of the season with a 91-51 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams battled wire-to-wire in the first half of the first quarter before a three-point bucket from Sophia Tougas broke it open, finishing the first frame with an 11-point lead.
- Charleston continued to pile it on, scoring 20 or more points in each of the four frames, also outscoring their opponent in all frames.
- The Cougars held the Phoenix to just eight points in the final quarter, ending the game with their second 40+ point win over a conference opponent this season.
- The Cougar defense forced 31 turnovers on the day, also holding their opponent to zero points made from beyond the arc.
- All ten active players added points on the night, with the Charleston bench adding 32 points to the game.
- CofC improves to 20-6 on the season, earning back-to-back 20-win seasons. The Cougars stand 11-4 in conference play, holding third place in CAA standings.
