CHARLESTON, S.C.- The College of Charleston women's basketball team concluded the regular season with a win over Hampton on Saturday afternoon inside TD Arena, 93-66. With the victory, the Cougars tie the program record for most wins in a single season in the NCAA Division I era.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Charleston topped the Pirates in all four quarters of play as Taryn Barbot kicked off the scoring with back-to-back triples.
- The Cougars outscored the Pirates 28-16 in the second quarter to take a 16-point lead into the break.
- CofC shot 95 percent from the charity stripe adding 19 points to the scoreboard; their best performance from the line all season.
- Charleston forced 18 turnovers for 26 points and outrebounded their opponent 32-25.
- Four Cougars tallied double-digit scoring on the day as Charleston ends the regular season on an eight-game winning streak, beating their last five matchups by double-digit margins.
LEADING COUGARS
- Taryn Barbot led the team with 31 points for her fourth-straight 20+ scoring performance.
- McKinley Brooks-Sumpter ended her Senior Day with 17 points, adding four rebounds and two steals.
- Taylor Barbot secured the double-double with 16 points and tying her career-high assists record with 12.
- Lara Rohkohl added 16 points on the day with seven rebounds.
