WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – College of Charleston baseball lost the series finale to Monmouth, 5-4, Sunday afternoon at MU Baseball Field.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST MONMOUTH:
- Senior Dariyan Pendergrass led off the game with a double down the right field line before stealing third and scoring on a Landon Penfield RBI groundout.
- Monmouth responded with two runs in the first and one in the second to take a 3-1 advantage.
- Charleston leveled the game at three in the top of the fifth, scoring on a throwing error and base hit off the bat of senior Dylan Johnson.
- The Hawks plated a pair in the home half of the frame to take the 5-3 lead.
- Redshirt freshman Kevin Samonsky and senior Garrick Murray each threw two scoreless innings out of the bullpen, combing to allow

- Charleston is 8-1 all-time versus Monmouth.
- Pendergrass is three stolen bases away from entering the top 10 all-time for swiped bags in a single season.
- Graduate Avery Neaves went 3-for-4 in the setback, giving him six hits and six RBI on the weekend.
- Neaves also extended his on base streak to 23 games while Johnson has an eight-game hitting streak.
