GREENSBORO, N.C. – College of Charleston tied the school record for most conference series wins in a season with a 3-0 victory over North Carolina A&T on Friday.
The Cougars (29-23, 19-7) matched the 2005 team by capturing seven series and extended their winning streak to a season-high six games. Charleston can finish no worse than a tie for third in the CAA with a victory in the regular season finale tomorrow.
The Cougars can also claim their first 30-win season since 2018 and fifth sweep of the year with a win on Saturday.
Ryley Kutter tossed her second shutout and lowered her ERA in CAA games to 1.84. She allowed only two hits and one walk while striking out four and did not allow an Aggie runner to reach third.
Austy Miller doubled in the fifth to extend her hitting streak to 14, tying the school record for the longest since Charleston joined the CAA in 2014.
Jay Wrightsman swiped her 27th base to tie the record for most thefts in a season.Â
Game Summary
- The Cougars had four hits in the opening inning but were able to score only once on an infield single by Julia Sitterding.
- Wrightsman, Kennedy Rhue and Karly Smith also had singles in the inning but Charleston left the bases loaded.
- It stayed a one-run game until the fifth when the Cougars scored a pair on three hits.
- Halle Cannon singled and scored on the Miller double to make it 2-0, and Leela Langston drove home Miller to cap the inning.
- The Aggies got their leadoff batter on in the seventh before Kutter set down the final three to preserve the shutout.
- Eight of the nine Cougar starters had a hit with Smith finishing with a pair.

The Cougars conclude the 2025 regular season tomorrow with a 1 p.m. game with the Aggies. Charleston returns to action Wednesday, May 7 when it begins play in the CAA Tournament in Buies Creek, N.C.
