JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jeorgi Gavalas posted a pair of season-best times to lead the College of Charleston track and field team at the East Coast Relays.
Gavalas moved up from fifth to fourth in school history in the 800m after winning her heat with a time of 2:12.73. The freshman also lowered her PR in the 1500m to 4:30.30 and remained fourth in the Cougar record book.
Savannah Stoutt and
Emily Kreek also made moves in the school annals. Stoutt's 10:34.78 in the 3000m steeplechase edged her up one spot to second and was less than two seconds away from Carlee Cassidy's record that has stood since 2016. Kreek climbed from sixth to fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.65.
The Cougars conclude the season at the CAA Championships on May 14-15 in Greensboro, N.C.
