CofC Begins Conference Play at Towson

TOWSON, Md. – College of Charleston volleyball begins its defense of the CAA Championship title as it travels to face Towson Sept. 20-21. Opening serves from SECU Arena are set for noon with the matches airing live on FloCollege.

OPENING SERVE:
- Charleston used a four-win week to improve to 6-4 overall in 2025.
- The Cougars won the Steve Baumrind Invitational losing just one set over the weekend tournament.
- CofC averaged 14.80 kills per set and 17.70 digs per set throughout the three matches, holding its opponents to a .134 attacking percentage.
- Junior Lauren Dow was named the tournament's MVP after averaging 10.70 assists per set to go along with 28 digs and nine kills.
- Dow enters the weekend with 2,491 career assists between her time at CofC and Lander.
- Freshman Caroline Noonan earned CAA Rookie of the Week following a 39 kills week. Noonan hit .427 and recorded 11 blocks.
SCOUTING TOWSON:
- Towson enters conference play with a 9-2 record and are a perfect 8-0 on its home court. After losing the first two matches of the year, the Tigers have won nine straight contests.
- Sarah Callender is one of four Tigers to have eclipsed the 100-kill mark while Sydney Stewart and Malinah Purcell-Telefoni pace the defense with 221 digs and 47.0 blocks, respectively.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Charleston is 14-8 against Towson in the series. The Cougars swept the season series in 2024 at home, winning in straight sets before taking the second match in five.
UP NEXT:
- CofC starts its home conference slate Sept. 26-27 against Hofstra. Friday's match from TD Arena will begin at 6 p.m. with Saturday's contest starting at noon. Entry to all home matches are free of charge.
