NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The College of Charleston women's golf team jumped four spots from their day one placement to end day two at T5 (+9) at the Mason Rudolph Championship hosted by Vanderbilt. The Cougars 1-over team round was the fourth best team round of the day out of 16 teams. The program enters the final round tied with Arizona State and seven strokes behind fourth place Baylor.
Senior
Molly Hardwick and rookie Carys Hennessy both turned in under par rounds to end the day tied at T7 (-2).
"It was another great team effort today. We played great disciplined golf," said head coach
Jamie Futrell. "Congrats to Carys and Molly on their under par rounds. It played tough today and those rounds were special."
The day was highlighted by Fennessy's hole-in-one on hole 13 to help the first year to a 3-under, 68 round. She becomes the first Cougar to sink a hole-in-one since
Emma Schimpf at the 2024 Evie Odom Invitational. Fennessy climbed 20 spots from her day one finish to enter the final round at T7.
Hardwick sank five birdies in the round, including three straight on holes 13, 14, and 15.Â
Charleston returns for the third and final round tomorrow, September 21 at 9:55 a.m. The Cougars will play with Arizona State and Baylor.
