
Women's Soccer Finds Second CAA Win Over Northeastern

BOSTON, Mass. – Emma Stankunas scored her first career goal to solidify the College of Charleston women's soccer 2-1 win over Northeastern on the road Sunday, September 21 at Parsons Field in Boston.
Charleston recorded its second straight conference win making their record 2-0 in the CAA and 6-3-1 overall.
Northeastern's record is now 0-2 in the conference and 1-5-3 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Northeastern took the lead in the 13th minute before Charleston responded with a goal from Avery Nassetta off assists from Caroline Fowlkes and Bella Antonio. The teams battled through the remainder of the first half, entering the locker room tied 1-1.
Charleston took control to start the second half finding three corners in seven minutes.
After 20 scoreless minutes, Stankunas scored the game winner on a Sienna Petro taken corner kick to give Charleston their second CAA victory.
The Cougars took 12 shots in the second half compared to the Huskies three.
Goalkeeper Ainsley Chunn recorded four saves over 90 minutes. The sophomore has allowed just one goal in the four matches.
