Women's Golf Opens Season at Cougar Classic

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's golf team currently sits in eighth place (-4) after the opening two rounds of the 21st Annual Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall Club. The Cougars are one of nine teams under par entering Tuesday's final round of play. Jamie Futrell's squad bounced back from a 6-over opening round to turn in a 2-under second round.
Carys Fennessy leads Charleston at T20 (-2). The rookie totaled six birdies in the second round of her collegiate debut and ranks third in par 3 scoring (2.75). Her 67 second round was the top Cougar round of the tournament thus far. Senior Adrian Anderson sits one stroke behind at T26 (-1).
Emilie von Finckenstein (+1), Raegan Propes (+2), and Molly Hardwick (+3) round out the Cougar lineup. Propes had the top opening round for the Cougars (-2), matched by von Finckenstein's second round.
The Cougars return to action Tuesday morning at 8:45 a.m. The team will play the final round with Boston College and Virginia Tech.
