CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball head coach Chad Holbrook announced Thursday that Brennan Ramsey has been hired as Assistant Director of Operations (Graduate Manager).
Ramsey will assist General Manager Sam Gjormand with equipment, travel and operations as well as overseeing student managers. Additionally, Ramsey will help with advanced scouting of opponents along with other baseball related duties.
"Brennan is a great addition to our staff," said Holbrook. "He has great experience at the highest level, and he will be an incredible asset to Sam and our coaching staff in the day-to-day operation of our baseball program. Our players will also benefit from his tireless work ethic and his team first attitude. We are thrilled to have him!"
Ramsey joins the Charleston staff after spending three and a half seasons as a student manager and undergraduate assistant with sports turf at South Carolina. With the Gamecocks, Ramsey was responsible for equipment and laundry along with other day-to-day operations such as setting up and breaking down the field.
"I am excited to be in Charleston and continue working in baseball," said Ramsey. "I am extremely grateful to Coach Holbrook and Sam for giving me this opportunity and am ready to help the Cougars in any way I can!"
During his time in Columbia, Ramsey also assisted the pitching coach as the bullpen liaison, helping the Gamecocks to a 4.19 ERA in 2023 and trip to the NCAA Super Regional and a 5.05 ERA in 2024 and NCAA Regional.
While working with sports turf, he oversaw mowing of the Jerry and Steve Spurrier practice facility fields for painting and landscaping, assisted with field preparations for games at Ray Tanner Field at Founder's Park and assisted on game days with pulling the field goal net and set up and breaking down the field.
Charleston begins the 2026 season Feb. 13 at Patriots Point versus Rutgers. Fans can purchase season tickets to all 31 home games for just $175 by visiting cofcsports.com/tickets or contacting the ticket office at (843) 953-2632 or athleticstickets@cofc.edu.
