Charleston, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's soccer team is set to travel to Philadelphia, Pa., to face Drexel in a CAA midweek contest on Thursday, October 8. Â
Charleston enters the match following a 4-1 victory over Hampton in Hampton, Va.Â
The Cougars' offensive effort was highlighted by graduate student Maggie Wadsworth, who recorded the first two goals of her Charleston career to earn the brace. Â
Wadsworth opened the scoring in the seventh minute of play, heading in a free-kick service from Bella Antonio. Just six minutes later, the duo connected again as Wadsworth found the back of the net to give Charleston an early 2-0 advantage. Â
The performance earned Wadsworth CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors, marking her the first Cougar to receive the award this season.Â
Charleston extended its lead in the 31st minute when Antonio converted a penalty kick to send the Cougars into halftime with a 3-0 advantage. Â
The conversion marked Antonio's fourth goal on a penalty kick this season, tied for second-most in the nation. The senior leads the CAA and ranks among the top-25 nationally in total goals with eight this season, while ranking 32nd in the nation in points with 19. Â
The Cougars added to their lead in the 58th minute, when Ellie Stewart found the back of the net to make it 4-0. Â
