
Women's Tennis Defeats New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The College of Charleston women's tennis team (3-3) earned its second win in as many days with a 5-2 victory at New Orleans (5-1) on Sunday afternoon.
"The team has been very consistent in their effort level in the last two matches," Head Coach Angelo Anastopoulo said. It's great to come back from spring break with two wins against two previously undefeated teams. We'll get back and start to prepare for some tough home matches over the next several weeks."
Charleston took an early 1-0 lead as the Cougars won all three doubles courts. Harper Santos and Saige Severance cruised to a 6-1 lead on court three, while Jaiden McKee and Isabella De Luise won 6-3 in slot No. 2 and Oziera Ahmad and Riley Trinkle teamed up for a 7-5 win on court one.
In singles, Jaiden McKee rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win in position No. 3, while Riley Trinkle made it 3-0 in favor of the Cougars with her 6-0, 6-2 win on court five. Olivia Bull then clinched the match for Charleston with a 6-2, 6-3 sweep in slot No. 6 before Marra Bruce won 6-3, 6-2 on court four to give the Cougars their fifth point.
New Orleans won courts one and two to make the final score 5-2 in favor of Charleston.
