
Charleston Wins Fourth Straight Match

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's tennis team (4-3) earned its fourth straight win with a 4-3 home victory over Buffalo (13-4) at the Turner Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
"Our team did just enough to pull out the win today," Head Coach Angelo Anastopoulo said. "I want to give a lot of credit to Buffalo and their effort and determination this afternoon. We were very fortunate to get the win today."
Charleston took an early 1-0 lead as the Cougars won all three doubles courts. Ozier Ahmad and Riley Trinkle won 6-4 on court two, while Jaiden McKee and Saige Severance earned a 6-2 victory in slot No. 3 and Sia Cariov and Francesca Salvato teamed up for a 6-4 win in the No. 1 position.
In singles, Sia Cariov put CofC in front 2-0 as she cruised to a 6-4, 6-4 straight set win on court one, and Oziera Ahmad made the score 3-0 in favor of the Cougars with her own two set win in slot No. 2 (6-4, 6-2).
Buffalo battled back as they won court five in three sets, but Riley Trinkle pulled off a 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 victory on court six to clinch the match for the Cougars.
After Trinkle sealed CofC's fourth straight victory, the Bulls won courts three and four to make the final score 4-3 in favor of the Cougars.
