
Women's Tennis Readies for Three Home Matches

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston women's tennis team will host three matches in three days at the Turner Tennis Center this week.
The Cougars will face off against two CAA opponents Towson and Hofstra on Tuesday and Wednesday before taking on South Florida on Thursday.
We have two very important CAA matches and a contest against a much improved South Florida team, Head Coach Angelo Anastopoulo said. The team is fighting hard and will need some more strong showings to be successful this week.

MATCHUP HISTORY VS. TOWSON — Charleston is 12-1 all-time against Towson. The Cougars have won the last seven contests against the Tigers, including a 7-0 sweep last year.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS — The Tigers are 0-2 in CAA play and 6-6 overall. Towson lost 5-2 to William & Mary on February 28 and the Tigers are coming off a 5-2 loss to Drexel. Towson earned a 4-2 win over Georgetown on February 20.
MATCHUP HISTORY VS. HOFSTRA — Charleston holds a 3-0 all-time record against Hofstra and last defeated the Pride 4-0 in the 2022 CAA Tournament.
SCOUTING THE PRIDE — The Pride are 2-9 on the year and have earned wins over Queens College and New Haven. Hofstra is coming off a 7-0 loss to Delaware on March 13.
MATCHUP HISTORY VS. SOUTH FLORIDA — This will be the first ever matchup between the Cougars and the Bulls.
SCOUTING THE BULLS — The Bulls are 5-8 this year and are 1-2 in the American. South Florida is coming off a pair of 4-1 losses to Yale and Liberty and the Bulls will face off with Coastal Carolina on Wednesday before their matchup with the Cougars on Thursday.
AWARDS – Sia Cariov and Francesca Salvato earned Coastal Athletic Association Doubles Team of the Week honors on March 10 after helping Charleston earn the critical doubles point in the Cougars 4-3 victory over the Buffalo Bulls on Friday.
LAST TIME OUT – The Cougars fell 4-3 in their CAA opener against William & Mary on Saturday, March 14.
UP NEXT – CofC will be back in action on Tuesday, March 24 for a home CAA matchup against Elon. First serve is set for 1:30 p.m.
