Amman Named CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – College of Charleston utility player Jake Amman was named the Coastal Athletic Association Player of the Week.
The freshman went 8-for-12 (.667 average) with a double, homer, 4 runs scored and 6 RBI in Charleston's three games last week to go along with a 1.714 OPS. Amman went 3-for-4 and belted a game-tying grand slam in the eighth against East Carolina. He was 4-for-5 in an 8-7 victory over James Madison Friday, scoring the game-tying run in the ninth before delivering a walk-off single in the tenth. Amman, who is batting .407 for the year, closed the week with a 1-for-3 effort against Illinois.
Amman became the 50th Cougar to hit a grand slam and first since Tyler Sorrentino in 2022 whose first career long ball was a grand slam. The feat was also the second ever neutral site grand slam in program history.
Charleston returns to action March 3 for a 4 p.m. ballgame against Presbyterian at Patriots Point. All home contests air live on FloCollege.
