Women’s Soccer to Host Northeastern in Midweek Bout

Charleston, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's soccer team will host Northeastern for a midweek bout on Thursday, September 24, at Ralph Lundy Field. Â
Charleston is coming off a 1-1 draw with William & Mary on Saturday, September 19.Â
The Tribe struck first, finding the back of the net in the second minute. Â
The equalizer from the Cougars came in the 37th minute, when Bella Antonio fired a shot to the top of the net on a pass from Maggie Wadsworth. The goal marked Antonio's sixth of the season, surpassing the senior's previous single-season career high. Â
Ainsley Chunn recorded four saves in the scoreless second half to bring her total to seven, tying her season-high saves in a match.
The Cougars enter the match on Thursday with a 3-4-3 overall record, and 0-0-1 in CAA play. The Huskies have an overall record of 3-4-2 and are 1-0 in conference after defeating Drexel 3-0 on Sunday, September 20.Â
The match will mark the 13th meeting in program history between Charleston and Northeastern. The Huskies hold the 9-2-1 advantage in the all-time series. Their last meeting was in 2025, when Charleston took away with the 2-1 victory in Brookline, Mass.Â
Thursday's match will feature a 'Pups on the Pitch' promotion, allowing fans to bring their dogs to Patriots Point. There will be a CofC tug toy giveaway at the gate (while supplies last).Â
