Women’s Soccer to Host Senior Day Match Against Monmouth

Charleston, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's soccer team will host Monmouth at Patriots Point on Sunday, September 27, for its Senior Day match.
The Cougars are coming off a 3-2 loss in a back-and-forth battle with Northeastern on Thursday, September 24.
Charleston opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Bella Antonio converted a penalty kick to give Charleston a 1-0 advantage.
Northeastern answered late in the first half, scoring in the 44th minute to send the match into halftime tied at 1-1.
Kassy Uzelman put the Cougars back in front in the 46th minute, firing a low shot past the goalkeeper off a pass from Antonio.
The Huskies found the equalizer in the 49th minute before scoring the eventual game winning goal in the 61st minute to secure the 3-2 final score.
Sunday's match will mark just the third meeting between Charleston and Monmouth in program history, with the all-time series tied at 1-1. In their most recent meeting, the Cougars defeated the Hawks, 4-0, in a shutout victory at Monmouth.
The Hawks enter Sunday's match with a 5-2-3 overall record, and 0-1-1 in conference play. Monmouth most recently earned a draw with UNCW on Thursday, September 24.
Sunday's conference matchup will also serve as the Cougar's Senior Day, honoring Bella Antonio, Izzy Arnold, Emma Revels, Emma Stankunas, Shea Vidovic, Mia Vrataric, and Maggie Wadsworth. Kickoff is set for 1:00pm, with Senior Day festivities taking place prior to the start of the match.
