Shot a career-low 67 in th second round of the Hummingbird Intercollegiate to finish tied for seventh (73-67=140)
Played in nine tournaments, finishing in the top 10 in two of them, including a tie for eighth at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invite (75-71=146)

High School:

Ranked 109 out of 6175 by Golfweek in the 2009 class and was ranked 10th in the Texas Junior Golf Rankings
From Westlake High School Mitchell finished in the top 30 in all five AJGA events played during last summer, his best finish a second
He also won the 5A State high School Regional Championship after his high school team won every tournament played last year.
